1 Timothy 1:16 But for that very reason I received mercy, so that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display the utmost patience, making me an example to those who would come to believe in him for eternal life.

We had another early night last night, but we did make it to breakfast with everyone. This is such a beautiful way to start the day, Rick starts the meal with a reading from a daily devotional book and then a prayer. The food has been spectacular here. Breakfast every morning is cracked wheat porridge (the wheat is grown and ground here on the farm and the cream is from their dairy) as well as fresh baked bread and Chai Tea every morning.

Tea time starts at 10 with another round of Chai Tea and snacks. I am definitely enjoying the routine of the day, as well as the scheduled breaks! After tea today we took the kids for a walk through the jungle down to the river. It was such a neat walk and I think that the kids really enjoyed it. I also learned that India does not have a government sponsored trash collection, so you have two options: either burn your garbage or throw it on the ground. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who adhere to the latter. The kids pointed this out quickly as we walked through the jungle with heaps of trash all over the place.

We really just spent the rest of the afternoon around the mission, doing laundry, and getting fully settled. We also walked over to the Maxton Strong School, which is here on the mission, to organize the books in their new library. Anjali and David enjoyed the quite library by reading a new book, while Lucia helped Jeff and I attempt some organization on the shelves of the young readers section of the library. We didn’t finish, but we made progress.

We have also been charged with making an advent wreath out of any items we can find. We created the frame out of some vines we found climbing one of the trees on the mission.

Our kids our now eating dinner every night with the mission kids and then at 6:30 pm we take them upstairs for showers and put them to bed with their IPods to listen to music while Jeff and I have dinner with the adults. So far this has been working great.
