John 2:18-20 The Jews then said to him, “What sign can you show us for doing this?” Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” The Jews then said, “This temple has been under construction for forty-six years, and will you raise it up in three days?”

The morning was one of the best we have had in a while. Maybe it is because the kids know that we will be done with traveling for a while, maybe they all got the rest they needed, but I don’t really care what the reason was, it was just a refreshing change. David’s hives have cleared up, with only a few remaining on his whole body. He said that he feels much better, though now Anjali seems to have a cold (sinus congestion and pressure).

We boarded our bus from Chiang Mai to our homestay just outside of Nan, which left on time and was a smooth ride the whole way. The kids were well-behaved and seemed to get along quite well, David even shared his tablet with Anjali and they played together on it for about 2 hours. It was beautiful.

I am just in awe on the scenery and the views of this bus ride as we head east through the mountains of Thailand. I even saw a sign that read “Attention Elephants”. I was struck by the warning about elephants and how drivers needed to be aware, since this is definitely not a normal sign to see in the US. As we drove, on a mostly two lane highway for the first part of the trip, I was amazed at the vast jungle that surrounded me. There is green everywhere I look and mountains that are towering above us as we drive through them. We are passing many small villages/communities as we continue on our 5 hour and 30 minute journey. There are road shops as we approach and leave each village, only then to be swallowed by the jungle once more.

I am totally out of my element and comfort zone and I am completely loving it! I am grinning ear to ear and wonder if I could ever tire of seeing this vast jungle.

We were picked up at the bus station by our host, Wat and we headed to his home, which was about a 5 minute drive from the bus station. His house is right in town and it is a beautiful home. We have 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a sitting area for our family. Each of the bedrooms have air conditioning, which is a nice reprieve from the heat of the day.

God was definitely with us today. He has lifted us up when we needed it most.
