Proverbs 18:24 A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
As we are closing in on our first month here, I can’t believe how fast time is going by. The friends we have made here, and in such a short time, continue to bless our lives. Johannes and Birgit continue to go out of their way to make sure we, not only have what we need, but also what we want. They continue to do whatever they can to make our time here the absolute best possible experience. They really are amazing people. And to be honest, I don’t know if I have ever met someone as accomplished as Birgit, it seems as though there is nothing that this woman can do. Both work extremely hard at making the lives of those around them better in any way possible. They are truly inspiring.
René came over for after dinner beers tonight and as usual, we sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather, great conversation and beers (wine for me!). I am really going to miss these nights.
This scripture speaks volumes to the kind of friends that we have found here in Schönebeck. They all are the kind of companions and friends that have become part of our family, and even though they live across the ocean in Germany, they will always be family and the distance won’t get in the way of these friendships.
