Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgement. Remove vexation from your heart, and put away pain from your body, for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.

Recovery day, but back to the routine. We all had school and work today. We also found a flute teacher for Anjali and she had her first lesson today. Birgit set up weekly lessons for Anjali with Frau Zucker. Anjali had her first class today and she loved it. Frau Zucker is able to speak English with Anjali and it is wonderful that we decided to bring her flute along for the trip. This is such blessing and benefit to her education.

My struggles are the same at school and I find that my difficulties are that I know I am able to do so much more than currently possible, all because of the language barrier. It is really frustrating, but I am starting to understand a bit more of what’s happening in the classroom, though I still have no idea how to explain or teach it with non-verbal cues. It is not easy, but I seem to be getting by.

The kids also seem to be doing well in school. They say that they get bored pretty easy and that is understandable. David said that he has to do math all day long because he can’t really understand anything else. What is really funny about this is that David probably needs math the most of all the subjects, as it seems to the one area in school that he struggle, specially with fluency. I try to remind him that God doesn’t always give us what we want, but what we need…and sometimes those two aren’t the same.
